About Us
St. Catherine’s Vocational School is one of fifteen second-level schools administered by the Donegal Education and Training Board. Programmes on offer include, Junior Certificate, Transition Year, Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme, and Leaving Cert Applied Programme.
Underpinning the new junior cycle are a set of principles, key skills and statements of learning.
The Senior Cycle (Leaving Certificate) is taken by pupils from 5th to 6th year.
Subjects: Accountancy, Agricultural Science, Art, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Construction Studies, Design & Communication Graphics, Engineering, English, Geography, History, Home Economics, Irish, LCVP, Mathematics, Music, PE, Physics
Transition Year is on an optional basis after Junior Cert and includes a range of activities and initiatives throughout the year.
Leaving Cert. Applied is a two-year course available to students who wish to follow a practical or vocationally orientated programme. The programme is made up of a range of courses that are structured around three elements: Vocational Preparation, Vocational Education and General Education.
